Hey! I'm so glad you're here!

I am a North Carolina based photographer available for portraits, celebrations & events.
I also have a large collection of images available for print & have also done commission pieces.

Take a look around, get to know me a bit & let me know how I can help you!

I am a Midwest transplant addicted to North Carolina weather. It is amazing. I graduated from Purdue University in 1999. We moved to NC in 2007 and I still get homesick for the horizon and a  breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. I have three children who- I am proud to say- are spirited and kind and fun. I'm a life learner, an explorer & a believer of fate. I love, love, love the beach, a good adventure, extreme weather, music & books. My favorite sport is politics and I prefer my coffee black (but I certainly won't complain if you are buying).

I fall in love with possibility. I have big ideas and love to see them translated into images. You can definitely add photography to the list of things that I am passionate about. More than passion though, photography is my therapy. When life feels like a bad sitcom stuck in a triage episode, my camera brings me back to center.  Part of the attraction is the organic nature of the whole thing.  It's an evolution or journey of sorts with lots of opportunities to learn new things.

I enjoy being able to share my work with other people.  This is a new thing though! It has taken me years to warm up to sharing. "Hey everybody! I made this!" - that's a vulnerable place to be. And it still is. Kinda feels like taking a step even though you can't see the stairs. Pretty sure MLK has dibs on that analogy and put it together far more eloquently, but it fits.

Typically, my editing style is limited and natural. I like to get it right in the camera. I like that challenge- of capturing the moment, a fleeting feeling- or idea- and presenting it in its raw form.  So, many of the things you see here- especially portraits- are largely as shot in camera. Other things you will see are wildly edited and then there are some in between. It just depends on where the image takes me in post processing.

If you are still reading... thank you. Sincerely. This is one of the hardest parts of the process-- trying to talk about yourself in a way that is relevant and maybe even interesting.

I look forward to hearing from you! Contact me HERE
